Telecom Egypt sets 2027 guidance targeting low double-digit revenue growth
Telecom Egypt approved its 2027 budget on 5 November 2026, targeting low double-digit revenue growth alongside fibre and data centre investment.
In brief: On 5 November 2026, Telecom Egypt S.A.E announced its board-approved 2027 guidance, projecting revenue growth in the low double digits and an EBITDA margin in the low to mid-forties. The outlook also sets an in-service capex-to-sales ratio in the mid-twenties alongside continued investment in fibre-to-the-home and data centre infrastructure.
Telecom Egypt S.A.E announced on 5 November 2026 that its Board of Directors has approved the company's 2027 budget alongside key performance indicator targets. The Telecom Egypt 2027 guidance forecasts revenue growth in the low double digits, an EBITDA margin in the low to mid-forties, an in-service capital expenditure-to-sales ratio in the mid-twenties, and a positive free cash flow to firm-to-EBITDA ratio in the low to mid-forties.
Financial targets and revenue drivers
The board-approved outlook sets four principal financial metrics for the upcoming year without specifying exact monetary figures. Tamer El Mahdi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Telecom Egypt, said: "Our 2027 budget builds on the momentum established in 2026 and advances the strategy approved by our Board at the beginning of the year: unlocking the full revenue potential of our established businesses while cultivating new sources of growth. By building on our infrastructure, customer relationships and capabilities, we are broadening our revenue base and positioning Telecom Egypt to capture a greater share of the expanding digital economy."
Expected revenue growth is underpinned by demand across both consumer and enterprise segments. In the retail market, Telecom Egypt anticipates that ongoing network upgrades will increase customer usage and encourage migration to higher-speed internet packages. Outside the retail segment, rising enterprise demand for cloud computing and artificial intelligence services is driving the need for international capacity and hosting infrastructure, supporting the expansion of the operator's data centre business and reinforcing its position as a hub for global traffic.
Network investment and market footprint
Telecom Egypt's capital expenditure programme focuses on advancing its fibre-to-the-home rollout and strengthening its wider network infrastructure to support long-term growth and service quality. El Mahdi noted that the company plans to fund these infrastructure investments while converting more of its EBITDA into free cash flow, adding: "Our EBITDA margin outlook takes into account the cost inflation we anticipate, as well as other market factors. We will stay focused on operational efficiency to support profitability."
Operating for about 170 years, Telecom Egypt provides fixed and mobile voice, high-speed internet, data services, smart solutions, cloud computing and data centre facilities, supported by an extensive network of subsea cables. The company serves individuals, communities, small office and home office customers, small and medium-sized enterprises, and large corporations across Egypt. Alongside its WE mobile brand, Telecom Egypt holds a 45% ownership stake in Vodafone Egypt, and its shares and global depositary receipts are traded on the Egyptian Exchange under the ticker ETEL.CA and the London Stock Exchange under TEEG.LN.
What happens next
As Telecom Egypt prepares to implement its 2027 budget, the announcement did not detail specific external risks. "While macroeconomic and regional pressures remain, we enter 2027 with a clear strategic direction and a disciplined approach to execution, balancing growth and investment with profitability, cash generation, and long-term shareholder value," El Mahdi said.
